About us

It all began with a spark of creativity that runs in the family and a love for unique, handcrafted art, at a young age, watching my neighbor work and tool leather and also burn onto the leather. I'm Stephanie, and as the owner of BURNED by Stephanie, I'm passionate about Pyrography-creating distinctive wood-burned art and burned hats. My small business is dedicated to personal attention, meticulous detail, and a commitment to excellence in every piece. Each item is carefully made, put together, sanded, planed, drawn, burned, stained and waterproofed by hand...ensuring it's truly one-of-a-kind. My husband, Michael helps when he's home off the road. He's a long haul truck driver and we also have a small operating cattle, hay and corn farm. We source wood from our farm from fallen trees from my father in law's sawmill and local sawmills, when possible, or from a local craft store, adding a personal touch to every creation. Plain hats all come from 3 unique dealers I have from Etsy. Some are uniquely dyed. I've done pyrography off and on since I was a child but just recently picked it back up again to make a career of it since I'm now disabled and unable to work a regular job. This allows me to help my family and also gives me something to do that I love because we're now empty nesters. Our goal is to bring smiles to the faces of our family, friends, community, valued customers and new ones with our handcrafted and burned by hand pieces. Thank you for choosing us!
